After more than two years of dating, Matt decided to plan the perfect proposal at Nicole’s beloved family lake house in Charlevoix, Mich. Following dinner with her family, they took a walk to get dessert and enjoy a Lake Michigan sunset. Matt recalls, “Nicole had no idea that instead of an ice cream sandwich, she’d be getting an engagement ring!” The couple chose Revel Fulton Market as the site of their ceremony and reception because it could be fully customized, allowing them to create a celebration that was pure luxury and glamour, with a color scheme of cream, rose gold and gray. Nicole says the theme was “roses everywhere!” The traditional Jewish ceremony took place under a 14-foot chuppah completely covered in white roses, in a room filled with white draperies and chandeliers. The couple wrote their own vows. More romance followed at the reception, which was filled with dreamy candlelight, an entire wall of roses and even roses hung from the ceiling. The six-tier cake included three different flavors. “The speeches were a highlight,” Nicole says. “My siblings rewrote the lyrics of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song as a tribute to us!” The night ended with the couple’s favorite comfort food: cheeseburgers and mini milkshakes."
