Wedding Date on Mar 10, 2018

How did they meet: Juan and Morgan had shared many mutual friends over the past few years but had never crossed paths. Juan spent time getting settled into his new apartment with Nia (his precious 4 year old daughter) and wanted to focus on her for a while. Morgan was focused on teaching and being a bridesmaid in every wedding in the Houston and DFW areas (haha). Cynthia, a friend from Juan’s past and a childhood friend of Morgan’s, saw him in Fort Worth and asked him how he was doing. He replied, “I am ready to find a good girl.” Cynthia took this and ran with it! She said that she knew the perfect person for him. Cynthia called Morgan immediately, mentioned that she had a guy in mind for her, and asked if she could give him her number. Morgan said, “Absolutely not, do not give him my number! I hate going on dates.” Cynthia ignored Morgan’s fear and said that she needed to get out there and try. Morgan ignored her request, only to find that Cynthia went ahead and gave out her number anyway. Morgan sure was glad that she did. Juan messaged Morgan on social media and asked if it would be okay if he called her. He did and the rest is history! Their First Date: Two weeks of talking on the phone passed and Juan asked Morgan to join him for brunch. On Sunday, December 13, 2015, they met for the first time. After church, Morgan rushed over to Gloria’s on 7th Street to meet the guy of her dreams! Little did she know that the date would actually last all day! They enjoyed mimosas and got to know each other more. On the first date they learned everything about each other and their families. They talked about their best friends, favorite things to do, and hard times of their pasts. They were so nervous that they didn’t even eat. As they walked outside of the restaurant, Morgan went to give Juan a hug and say goodbye, when he insisted that the date wasn’t over yet. They shared sushi and drinks for the rest of the date. It ended with Morgan telling him that she thinks he’s what she had been waiting for all of this time. The Proposal: A year and some months pass, and Juan worked up the courage to pop the question… but not without asking Morgan’s dad first on New Year’s Day. As you can see, he survived that intimidating encounter. Once getting his approval, he was ready to go! He planned to propose in March, but couldn’t save the secret for that long. An excited Juan secretly planned the perfect proposal with the help of Morgan’s mom and siblings. They worked together to create the best surprise ever! Crystal created the box where “Will You Marry Me?” popped out being carried by balloons and silver glitter. Kim, Morgan’s mom, kept the secret from Morgan. Sonny, Morgan’s brother, convinced Morgan that the box was a bike for Niaveth at her Frozen birthday party. Morgan went to help Nia open her big present, when to her shock, some words and balloons popped out. Mia and Nia helped open the box and were in on the secret. Alexis, Morgan’s sister, organized for all of her friends from North Richland Hills to surprise her with a “SAY YES!” sign that they held up after he asked. A lot of thought went into this very special day. Morgan was in shock opening the box and turned around to see Juan on one knee. He asked and she said yes!
