I had the pleasure of being part of Mikayla & Jesse’s wedding earlier this year - two really good friends of mine, which for me, made filming this one all the more special and exciting ❤️
I’ve known Jesse for almost 10 years now, and being asked to capture this day meant so much to me personally. When looking back over the footage, I felt so happy and excitement - a day which had such a genuine and beautiful feel about it.
Having been together since their early high school days, for Mikayla & Jesse, this wedding had been a long time coming! There were plenty of laughs and many tears as these two officially tied the knot at the stunning Sydney Observatory. A beautiful and humorous ceremony for all who were present, many of whom would have been expecting this to day happen for quite some time now. Mikayla & Jesse shared personal vows, and made honest promises to one another like; “I promise to replace the toilet roll when it’s empty”, and, “I promise to answer your calls and use my mobile phone as it’s intended to be used..” 😂
My first time shooting at @thegrounds, and I didn’t think this place could get any more magical.. But wow, Mikayla blew this one out of the water with what she strung together. The styling, floral arrangements & overall decor was immaculate. An evening filled with beautiful stories from close friends and family, along with one of the most entertaining and hilarious speeches I’ve ever heard from Mikayla’s Mum, Maria. You only have to listen to the first 20 seconds to understand what I mean 😂
I’d anticipated this bunch to be a pretty wild crew, although I wouldn’t have guessed we’d have one of the groomsmen stripped down to his undies in the middle of the city, followed by an impromptu dance party, with some pretty questionable Russian dance moves. Such an enjoyable wedding to be a part of, I hope this film can at least give a glimpse of how wild a celebration they had 🥂
