Michelle and Tad’s paths first crossed when they met at New York University in 20211. They had the opportunity to work closely together writing music for their first Philippine Cultural Night in which their first song written together was “You Don’t Know Me.” It was not long after they began to co-direct an acapella group together before music writing sessions become night hangouts. In the midst of working on their second cultural night on March 23, 2013, Michelle and Tad went on their first date.
A few months after dating, Michelle moved away to Kentucky. The couple spent the next 6 years in a long-distance relationship while under the stress of medical schools. During this time, their love for each other and their relationship only grew stronger. Through the years of distance, they managed to not only support each other’s academic studies and prioritize their relationship, but through the challenges that come with distance, they built a solid foundation for their future together. Finally, in 2019, they were reunited in the same state when Michelle was matched at Georgetown University Hospital for residency. The next year, Tad and Michelle welcomed Jilly, their Mini Aussie, to the family.
After conquering years of being in a long-distance relationship, Michelle and Tad knew their love was strong enough to last forever! Despite the miles between them, they found ways to prioritize their relationship whether it was buying each other take out dinner, watching a movie online, or playing games together despite being in two different states. As Michelle shared with us, “When we finally for to live in the same city together, we knew we were perfect for each other and that this would be a ‘forever’ thing.”
