How did you two meet? Michael and I met during the summer of 2014 in Orange Beach, Alabama. We both made a last minute decision to spend the summer there, and it was the best last minute decision we ever made. We met, and we had an instant connection. How did he propose? Every year Michael and I go to the Alabama Theater at Christmas time to watch "It's A Wonderful Life." This past year, before the movie began, Michael had a message pop up on the screen asking me to spend the rest of our wonderful life together. Then he got down on one knee in front of 2,000 people. What did you envision your wedding being prior to planning? We envisioned a ceremony that gave all the glory to God surrounded by our friends and family. We wanted everyone to dance the night away, and we did just that! Our vision for the decor: we wanted greenery, drapes, and anything related to Birmingham. What was your color palette and your style vision? Sage, champagne, navy. We wanted a boho/industrial themed wedding, and Iron City was a perfect venue. What unique elements or DIY details did you include? We loved having Steel City Pops instead of having two cakes. Having one cake and then popsicles was so fun for everyone! What was your favorite moment? Dancing with our friends and family. What is one piece of advice that you could give brides-to-be? Take in every moment. Don’t let the small things get you down. Not everything will go perfect, but it will all be perfect in the end. Be present with your groom. Keep in mind the day is about your lifelong marriage, not just the flowers, guests, food, etc. "Our wedding was an absolute dream!" - Kaitlin and Michael
