Wedding Date on May 26, 2018

Our love story is a story that I had played in my head before I ever even met Michael, it was a romantic scenario I thought could only happen in movies. Little did I know I would be living it. I fell in love with the most unexpected person at the most unexpected time and will be forever grateful. My best friend and his best friend are brother and sister, so of course we knew who each other was. Michael and I had been introduced to each other a few times before, but January 28th was the night that forever changed our paths. Michael invited my best friend and I over to her brothers apartment to hangout. We had other plans that night but figured we would stop by and see her brother. Once we got to his house, Michael came over to me and we didn’t leave each other’s side the whole night. We talked and talked; had deep conversation, and light hearted laughter. It felt as if our souls connected and we couldn’t stop it. We watched the stars, went for a drive with our friends, and stayed up talking until the sun came up. There was a whole sky full of bright stars that night but we couldn’t see anything but each other. As we watched the light peep through the living room windows, we didn’t realize we were the only ones still up. It felt as if I had just met somebody who would stay in my life but I wasn’t sure in which way yet. In the weeks to come Michael and I texted back and forth trying to sort out these feelings that were catching up to us while building a sweet friendship. I was pretty nervous to like him at this point because if something were to happen and we were to break up, how would that affect our friend group? But Mike didn’t worry about that because he assured me that wouldn’t happen. I trusted him and fell deeper for him with each message. After a couple months of talking, Michael asked me to be his girlfriend on March 3rd, 2012. His brother and his band pulled up on their tour van playing the song from the Wedding Singer ,“Grow old with you” by Adam Sandler. I remember feeling weightless that night. And still, I couldn’t ever see him not being by my side in life. The first few months were a whirlwind. We got to know each other more and more with each road trip, midnight movie showing, karaoke night, beach adventure, coffee meet-up and star gazing hangout. I had never felt such a deep connection with someone like this before. Although we didn’t have too much in common; I enjoyed art, creating and crafting, etc. and he enjoyed playing video games and watching loooooong movie trilogies, I couldn’t help but want to learn everything about him and he wanted to do the same. Years passed, and Michael and I grew closer. It was never a matter of if we would get married, but when we would. Michael, being the surpriser he is, decided to give me the ultimate surprise. I had just graduated from college and we had been talking about marriage more seriously but it was not a for sure thing on when we would do it. On August 13th, 2016, while we were camping with some friends, Michael knew this would be the perfect moment to propose. We searched for some natural pools nearby our campsite trying to escape the heat and finally found some. Mike was sitting in the pool with the biggest smile on his face. He wouldn’t look away from me. Once I got in the pool with him, he swung me around, got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I was so excited for what was to come! Although we have had our ups and downs, I wouldn’t change a thing. We have grown in love and know that God puts obstacles in our lives to help us grow. Flash forward to our wedding day; the day that would change everything, after 6 years of being together we were finally starting our lives as one! When I hold his hands and look into those brown eyes, I know we can take on whatever life throws at us. I am so thankful for Michael and his loving family and couldn’t be happier.
