He graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and worked as a newspaper reporter in Virginia and Pennsylvania for four years before pursuing a master’s degree in Multimedia, Photography & Design at Syracuse University. His work has been published by The New York Times, The Player’s Tribune, The Dallas Morning News and National Public Radio, among others. When Jim is not telling stories, he loves exploring the natural world, learning to play the banjo and watching historic documentaries.
