Wedding Date on Nov 18, 2017

Michael and I met a college. We actually "met" the week before classes started. Baylor has what is called welcome week, where new students are organized into groups of 20 or so and participate in several activities together to be introduced to campus life. We were in the same welcome week group. However, Michael only attended the first event because he thought our group was too weird. Neither of us actually remember meeting each other. It just felt like we've always known each other. We ran around in the same circles for a couple years. We always sort of liked each other, but the timing was never quite right. We both studied abroad during different semesters. I spent a summer in Colorado. He spent a summer in D.C. Finally towards the end of Junior year, we were both in the same place at the same time. Our first date we bonded over our mutual love of Garth Brooks and the rest was history. He was always so thoughtful and romantic during the 3+ years we dated. Our first kiss was under the stars out at Lake Waco. He waited until I met his parents before officially asking me to be his girlfriend. He once snuck into my closet to steal my winter coat and gloves for a surprise date at ICE! at the Gaylord Texan. He once drove 45 minutes to the restaurant where I worked just to leave a note on my car. When he proposed to me, he contacted Rent the Runway and asked them to send him my list of favorite dresses and rented one. He stole a pair of shoes from my closet and noticed a small tear so he took them to a shoe cobbler to repair. He proposed outside under a beautiful gazebo on a small pond. After he proposed, we enjoyed a chef planned meal at the restaurant where I once worked. He then took me to a surprise engagement party. My mom, sisters and a several of our friends flew into celebrate. It was such an amazing celebration. We were married on a blustery November day. It was the most special day for us to celebrate our love and commitment along side all our friends and family. Our wedding was distinctly us - complete with custom Baylor corn hole boards, street tacos for dinner, and Groom's pie in lieu of the traditional Groom's cake. We also has some of my dear friends, Nicolas Gutierrez and Savannah Low perform during the ceremony and cocktail hour, which meant the world to me. Having been through a wedding, my go to advice is - Once the wedding is all said and done, you walk away with your photos, maybe a video, and your marriage, so invest in those things.
