These high school sweethearts’ love story will make you believe in the resilience of true young love. They started dating back in high school in 2006 and went to every high school dance together – including both of their proms. After splitting up in college, they reconnected and realized they wanted to stay together forever. When Mike proposed to Ashley, he said “I always told myself that if I ever had another chance with you, that I would make it count. You are the absolute love of my life and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?” 😭Mike’s wedding gift to Ashley was amazing. He got them a HONEYMOON! They were originally going to save up to go on their honeymoon later, but Mike surprised Ashley with a trip to Bermuda right after their wedding. How sweet!! (Ashley’s face says it all.)Ashley gave Mike an equally thoughtful wedding morning gift – a set of “something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue”. “Something old” was a dog tag and jewelry box that she gave him 11 years ago, “something new” was a rose gold watch to match his wedding band, “something borrowed” was his grandfathers pin to wear inside his jacket, and “something blue” was a navy handkerchief embroidered with a note she wrote to him back in high school.Family & friends headed over to the bluff on the eastern tip of Camp Hero in Montauk, NY (the eastern-most tip of Long Island with 360º views of the ocean!) to witness Ashley & Mike officially get married. Mike’s reaction to seeing his bride for the first time is ADORABLE. 😭With the Montauk Point Lighthouse peaking through the fog, they recited their self-written vows to each other and were officially pronounced husband and wife!My favorite part of any wedding day is watching how overjoyed the couple is when they walk back down the aisle together. This was the most excited reaction I have yet to see: at the end of the aisle, Mike picked Ashley up & spun her around and kissed her – so sweet!!Everyone headed over to 360 East Montauk Downs for the cocktail hour & reception. It was very clear that Ashley & Mike’s #1 goal for their wedding was for their guests to have a great time, and they even hand-made a bunch of games and activities for guests to enjoy, including tic-tac-toe, Jenga, cornhole, and ring toss! Alni Events designed floral arrangements & decor to fit the natural, rustic, green theme of the wedding – nailed it!I had so many favorite moments during this wedding and it was *such* a pleasure to capture it all. All the best, Ashley & Mike, you guys are seriously the BEST! <3
