Wedding Date on Aug 29, 2019

Alex and Mercedes ultimately met through a mutual friend, but they would often run into each other on the elevator at school (The Art Institute of Washington) and in her words "I could never forget his smile". Mercedes continues, "my friend and roommate Micah and I were meeting over at the infamous Burger King across the street from the school, where we had been planning to ride the metro back to our apartment, and a couple of Micah's other friends were there including Alex. I remember walking inside of the restaurant, up the stairs to sit next to Micah, diagonal from Alex as he was eating a burger. Mayo had cornered on the side of his mouth (so cute lol) and Micah had formally introduced us. From that moment on, we had begun to recognize each other, and had come to realize we had been in the same class together and lived in the same housing apartment building. We became friends and then inseparable". Filmmaker Notes: It was truly an amazing experience running around with this lovely family. Witnessing their love and gentleness with their children was beautiful. As soon as we go back from the trip I started piecing this edit together. I wanted to showcase all of the beautiful animals, architecture, street performers and crystal clear waters. The plan was to Elope in Aruba and then surprise their family and close friends back home in MD with the wedding film at the reception in Nov. Everyone was excited and surprised that these two finally made it official! They partied and celebrated well into the night with memories they will have forever. -Nikki
