It’s tough to write a caption for what this film and experience mean to me. Nick and Melina have become great friends here in Nashville, and they took a chance on me to film and document their time in Belize, giving me my first opportunity at a proper destination wedding. I had only flown a few times with gear up to this point, much less gone through international customs, but upon getting through (*big exhale*) and arriving at the island I couldn’t stop smiling. My wife and I proceeded to make a lot of new friends over the next 3 days and integrate our lives with the other 30+ guests, exploring a tropical place and clearer water than we had ever seen before. Upon maybe one too many “Island Stumblers”, I couldn’t help but sit back, reflect and be so thankful of the position I was in - staying on a resort with their family and friends, engraining ourselves in the culture of both the island and the culture of the guests, filming an incredible wedding like this at an early stage in my business. It’s a chance I did not want to take for granted, and so that’s why I worked harder on this film than I had on any prior: because this couple deserves it, the family deserves it, and I wanted to do my best to capture the magic of these events. If you’ve made it this far, thank you for my rambling thoughts and my hope is that you enjoy this film as much as I did making it.
