Wedding Date on Apr 8, 2018

(From Mel's perspective).....”The first time that we met was on the football field. There was a mutual friend that invited me to come out a join the game of touch football with an old college buddies that get together almost every Sunday to play. So I was the only girl there. So I made the choice pretty easy for Sam! Ha! Anyways after a few months of skirting around each other we finally went out on a date! We started going hiking almost every weekend and our passion for new adventures grew as did our passion for each other. We earned the nickname Smel from our friends and then we developed #doyousmeladventure. We would wake up at 3 am to catch a sunrise hike, or stumble down a mountain in the dark after watching a sunset, sleep in the car to be able to be in the mountains to watch the meteor shower and wake up above the clouds (All of it, super corny I know). Anyways he proposed after climbing up a lava rock formation overlooking the ocean at sunrise in Oahu on the weekend that we met 3 years earlier (a happy accident, he is romantic but not THAT romantic).So we had been talking for the past few years about adventuring in Iceland, we finally decided to go get married there on the same weekend that we met/got engaged! So not only did we get married in Iceland but we decided to do an adventure wedding. Packing our closest family and friends into a bus and traveling to the glacier lagoon for the ceremony and then get back in the bus and hike 20 min to go see waterfall (and do like 4-5 stops like that throughout the day) before heading back for reception dinner at the hotel. It was perfect.” (From Filmstrong Wedding Film’s perspective)....Mel and Sam are some of the coolest, most fun, adventurous people we have ever met. We knew their wedding film had to do their goofy personalities justice. We wanted their film to feel like them. Yes it was going to be romantic and gorgeous because its ICELAND! Come on! But, we wanted the film to be more than that. We wanted it to feel quirky and fun and energetic. So during the day we made sure to facilitate moments that were so #doyousmeladventure. We brought along a football for some touch football next to the glacier lagoon to remind them of how they met ( and boy did Mel tackle in that dress!), we did celebratory shots in the frigid wind, and played leapfrog at the black sand beach.
