Megan and Alex met at an event for Team River Runner, an amazing organization started by the father-of-the-bride, to help provide a healthy activity for veterans.  Fast forward a few years, and they're getting married at the truly unique Calleva Farm.  Megan worked at the farm as a camp counselor when she was younger, so it was really special to be able to get married at a place with so many memories.  Megan and Alex exchanged vows in a wooded ampitheater before taking a quick tractor ride to their gorgeous reception in the barn.

If you choose to have a military wedding, your ceremony can take place at a military chapel or the academy from which the military member graduated. When figuring out the seating arrangements, remember that each service brand has different guidelines but, generally, the higher-ranking the officer, the better position at both the ceremony and reception.

Many people know a military wedding simply by the attire—most often we see a groom in his dress blues (or whites in the summer)—but there are numerous traditions that come with the territory of hosting a military wedding. 

One of the most well known military wedding traditions is the Arch of Sabers (or Swords if referring to a Navy or Marine Corps member). If either partner, or both, are commissioned officers, they can have a ceremony exit beneath an archway of sabers held by other military members. Noncommissioned officers and enlisted personnel may instead go with the variation called the Arch of Rifles. Speaking of swords, another popular tradition is to cut the cake with a sword instead of a knife at the reception.
