Matt and Madison decided to travel from Kentucky to Utah for their wedding. And...they decided to invite some close family and friends as well. But, not for just the wedding day but for 4 days. During that time we visited and hiked in Zion National Park, and Snow Canyon State Park, and caught a beautiful sunset at Bryce Canyon National Park. This wedding adventure included lots of hiking, laughs and so many tears. This was an amazing time with amazing people. **Here is Matt and Madison's Story: April 28, 2011 is a day we still remember so well. It was during the Spring of our 8th grade year at Olmstead Elementary School. Matt chose to walk me up the stairwell to my mom’s classroom, as he did everyday. Except today, when we got to the top of the stairwell, he stopped me and asked “Madison, I have a question to ask you, but I am afraid you will say no”. Needless to say, he was wrong. From middle school, to high school, to college, our friendship grew and we fell more and more in love. Through every decision we made, it was like we were continually placed into each other’s paths without us even trying. On April 28, 2020, Matt had planned a throw-back date in our hometown for our anniversary. When he was 10 minutes away, he called and asked me to put on something nice. He picked me up and drove me to Olmstead Elementary School. 9 years later, in the same exact spot, I walked up the stairwell and in the same fashion, he asked me to be his wife. The feeling of being engaged was like no other—so many emotions, but mostly pure joy. We quickly agreed we wanted to be married before the end of the year. We once dreamed of a big, elaborate wedding, but once it was time to hit the ground running, we realized that wasn’t truly what we wanted. We knew we wanted something different, fun, full of adventure, and celebrated with our family and dearest friends. We wanted a memory that would last a lifetime, and make us look back and realize how special it was. Fast forward to December 17th, 2020, and our family and friends flew out from Kentucky to Utah. We spent the next three days exploring the West together. It brought our families together, symbolizing the union that was about to take place. On December 20, 2020, we finally became one. The weekend was one full of love, fun, adventure, and ended with an intimate ceremony. The wedding trip is one that we will never have words to describe, but with video to capture the entire weekend, we have emotions that were captured that will help always keep it fresh in our hearts. We proudly say that we are best friends first. We love to make each other laugh and show each other adventure. Our relationship started on the basis of friendship, and that friendship continues to grow daily. That bond that began at Olmstead Elementary School is difficult to break and we will carry that with us everywhere we go.
