What is your story?
Philadelphia has our hearts, we have lived here for the past 8 years and own a house here. But, we have ties to upstate New York and were married in Fair Haven, NY on Oct 23, 2021.
How did the two of you meet?
While we both attended St Josephs university in Philadelphia at the same time, we never crossed paths. It wasn’t until a few months after we graduated that a few mutual friends set us up on a date on the first Wednesday after thanksgiving. We still get drinks after work on that day, just to remember the first date.
What was your favorite memory of your wedding day?
I’m not sure we have a “favorite” memory from the wedding There are too many favorites to pick just one, but the thing we’ll remember most and that were most grateful for is, that we were able to celebrate with all our family and friends. We were certainly lucky to be able to have all those people under one roof when so many have had to limit / cancel events due to Covid After a lot of worry and concern, it was so great to have everyone there safely.
What were the main influences behind the style of your wedding, it’s location and your venue choice for your big day?
Fair Haven has been in Meg’s family for over 100 years and we spend a lot of holidays in the town. So, when it came to picking a location, it really was a no brainer to make a place that is already special to us just that much more special. For the style, we wanted to go with simple and classic.
What would your top tips be for somebody planning their wedding?
1. The little things tend to cause the most stress…try to let those things go
2. Aside from the venue, Pick your top 3 items for the wedding and put the budget towards those things (ie. music, food, flowers)
3. Do a little planning each day, and let people help! It’s fun for them and takes items off your plate
What made you decide to hire a wedding videographer? Any tips for couples on the fence for a film?
We were on the fence for a while about a videographer. But, after talking to some friends that had recently been married and had gotten their video back, they talked a lot about not being able to stop watching the video. You’re pulled in so many different directions all day and miss/ forget so many moments that only video can capture.
