Fernando and María’s destination wedding in Mérida unfolded over three vibrant days, bringing together family, tradition, and celebration in the heart of Yucatán.
The weekend began with a relaxed welcome gathering at a well known bar in downtown Mérida, where friends and family reconnected and set the tone for what was to come. The following day, an intimate civil ceremony took place at a private Airbnb in the historic center, reserved only for their closest relatives. It felt personal and grounded before the scale of the final celebration.
The third day moved to Hacienda Xtepen, a breathtaking Yucatán estate that framed a wedding filled with color, movement, and energy. With nearly two hundred guests, the atmosphere was expansive and dynamic, carried by a young crowd ready to celebrate.
Before the first dance, the emotional center of the weekend arrived quietly. María’s father sang a song he had written for her when she was born, joined by her brothers. It was an intimate pause in the middle of a grand production, a reminder of the personal history behind the spectacle.
As the night progressed, a live batucada ignited the dance floor and the energy escalated into something unforgettable. The film was approached from a documentary perspective, allowing both the large scale production and the intimate family moments to coexist naturally.
This three day destination wedding in Mérida became a story of contrast. Intimacy and magnitude. Family roots and collective celebration. A film built around rhythm, presence, and the real atmosphere of the weekend.
