Among the sofreyé aghd's other traditional elements is a bowl of honey, which the couple will feed each other after exchanging their vows. This symbolizes the idea of the couple agreeing to feed each other sweetness for the rest of their lives. 

At the end of the reception, guests circle the couple and toss flower petals, symbolizing happy wishes, on them as they dance.

Persian wedding traditions date back thousands of years—pretty incredible if you ask us! One of the most important traditions is the sofreyé aghd—the table the soonlyweds sit at during the ceremony.
