“It’s finally our turn!” After 7 years and numerous roles as bridesmaid and groomsman, it was Maegan & Jake’s turn to be the one in white lace & a tux- saying I do in front of family & friends at the gorgeous historic Cloverdale Baptist Church. In fact, it was seven years to the day that these two started their love story. How incredible that they have a new anniversary to celebrate year after year! These two met in middle school when Jake was in 6th grade and Maegan was in 7th. When we asked Jake about when he knew she was THE ONE, he said he’s always known..ever since he was 13 years old. These two initially met because they both signed up for choir as their elective course— every year the choir took a trip to Atlanta at the end of April/beginning of May. Because they were in separate grades and their classes were at separate times, they had no idea who each other was until they went to an Atlanta Braves game on the trip. Maegan said that he sat right in front of her at the game… and that it was the best happenstance ever! THE PROPOSAL Jake & Maegan made a list of all the things they wanted to get done last summer— Maegan explained that “we had several movies we wanted to see, wanted to go to Stone Mountain in Atlanta, go to another braves game in the new stadium, and have a picnic. The picnic is the only thing we really got done 🙃” and that is how he proposed!! On this hot summer day, they did what all good southerners do… pick up Chicken Salad Chick, go to the Shakespeare festival park and sit under the shady trees, enjoying each other’s company. Maegan says that they talked about life, school, work, and “the next thing I knew, when I finally gave him a chance to talk, he was telling me how he always wanted to build a life with me and didn’t want to wait to start that part of our lives any longer- I was completely shocked, never been more surprised in my life. He planned a little party afterwords with all of our closest friends and families. He’s the best and the engagement could not have been better!” THE WEDDING DAY These two couldn’t have asked for a prettier wedding day–even if the temperatures were a bit higher than normal, they took it in stride, laughing and having a blast with friends. Meagan & Kelly Michelle with Edelweiss Design House did a fabulous job of bringing this bride’s vision to life, all while enhancing the classic beauty of Cloverdale Baptist Church and the industrial elegance of Montgomery’s Alley Station Ballroom. Greenery adorned the railings leading up to the church’s wide front doors and dainty florals decorated the pews, welcoming guests into the ceremony. Maegan & her girls got ready in the cutest custom floral robes, while Jake’s Dad helped him straighten his tie and prepare for the day. We had an absolute blast with this fun bridal party, and watching Maegan’s first look with her Daddy made us all a little teary-eyed. As always, working with Lauren from Milly Photography was an absolute BLAST! All in all, it was a perfect day!
