Sean and I met on a pre-orientation retreat before our freshman year of college called “Encounter” put on by the Center for Campus Ministry at Mount St. Mary’s University. We were the first people each other met, specifically on Echo field during an icebreaker at the beginning of the retreat. Shorty after we became best friends and were practically inseparable.
Sean proposed by taking me down memory lane through all of our firsts. He took me back to Echo field in the exact spot we met and asked me to marry him!! Afterwards he took me to dinner at La Bella Italia, where we went for our first date. Then of course followed by Mr. G’s ice cream where we closed out our first date, and also went on many “friend dates.”
Sean and I really wanted the emphasis of our wedding day to be on the Sacrament we were entering into by having a traditional Novus Ordo Catholic Mass. Along with this, we included various elements throughout the day to remind ourselves and our guests of Christ”s primacy in the Sacrament. Also, we had a really fun polaroid picture guest book! :)
