Wedding Date on Sep 17, 2022

I was working in Columbus, OH in the public health department right next to the children’s hospital he was working at. Through a few unsuccessful dating app dates prior, we managed to find each other and have been inseparable since. Our first date was at a local diner on a Thursday night in December, both of us coming out of work and while I was a little nervous to meet someone new, the night felt as if I had met one of my oldest friends and we were catching up as if no time had passed. Since then, I have managed to find someone that genuinely cares about my well-being, my passions, and when the time came to meet my family, loves my family as if they were his own. Living in two different cities and also coming from slightly different backgrounds (I’m Puerto Rican from Chicago and he’s from Cleveland) has made for opportunities in our relationship to really learn more about what makes us individually who we are. The fact that someone who did not grow up in an environment where speaking Spanish was a norm and then learning it to propose to me, has been a strong indication to me that with the support of each other we’ll make it through.
