It all started on September 11th, 2000, when Luisa and Luis saw each other for the first time. Luisa was 12 years old and Luis was 13 years old. Luisa had just arrived to the United States the day before and her aunt sent her to the grocery store (where Luis worked) on an errand. Luisa was very shy and did not like how Luis spoke to her and asked her aunt to never ever send her on errands to that Bodega. Unfortunately (but also fortunately) Luisa continued being sent on errands to the Bodega. Eventually, Luis and Luisa began to talk and on February 14th, 2001 began dating. Throughout the years (now 17 and counting), they have managed to grow together, love each other unconditionally, and always appreciate the blessings that God gives them (becoming parents is the BIGGEST of these blessings). They do not consider each other to be a perfect couple, but they value the perfection of their imperfections, which is the core of their Union! On 11/20/15 Luis asked Luisa to marry him in front of their oldest daughter Lismary (4 years old then) and family members during a very romantic dinner in Boca Marina Restaurant (Boca Chica, Dominican Republic). With her heart exploting of joy and her loud screams, Luisa said YES! In planning their Wedding Day, it was very important for Luisa and for Luis to celebrate their union as personal and sentimental as possible. It was important for them to honor their roots and their beginnings, which is why they decided to have their destination wedding in the Dominican Republic with family and those who have witnessed their Young Love! During the wedding planning process, Luisa and Luis received yet another blessing: baby number 2! Princess Luna Bella was born just in time (3 months old on the wedding day) to be part of this amazing day and cause even more happiness and joy. It was essential for Luisa and Luis to make their wedding day, THEIRS. Anything and everything needed to represent them and their union as well as their roots, which Bego from the Venue Kukua Beach Club, did an amazing job with every detail. For example, the reception tables were labeled by a year with a photo representing an important event in Luisa and Luis's lives together. Also, the guest book was a map of the Dominican Republic, which represented Luisa and Luis's cultural origin. In addition, the songs played during the ceremony as well as reception were also songs that Luisa and Luis could relate with. Overall, Luisa and Luis made sure that their Wedding Day honored their Union the best way possible. An important advice for future bride and groom: hire a caring and professional photographer/videographer. The Wedding Day goes by so fast that you wont even believe it yourself. These memories will only be lived ONCE and relived forever through your photos and videos, therefore make sure that you do you choose the right professional to capture your Big Day.You need someone who is going to treat your Wedding Day memories as their own: with love and care! xoxo, Luisa and Luis Caraballo
