It's a classic fairy tale of inter-office romance. Our first encounter was November 2011 when Loren interviewed for her first job post college at Workday. After about 6 hours of interviews, Jonathan was the last of many interviewers that day-- Loren remembers Jonathan being nervous to interview her, but the jury is still out for debate! Loren got the job and once she started, went straight to work, wasting no time to get Jonathan's number (allegedly) since she was instantly attracted to Jonathan's charm and thought he could be a fun new friend. After starting to carpool to and from work, our friendship was off to the races, spending 3 hours a day together in the car! We started dating officially in February 2012 after Loren took Jonathan out for a special birthday date. Once Jonathan realized Loren's fun-loving nature and unique ability to make someone feel so special, Jonathan knew he had to "lock it down"! After dating for a couple of years we took our first BIG vacation together in 2014, traveling around Europe for two weeks, where we discovered that we were great travel companions (Jonathan being the ultimate planner, and Loren ready and willing to see it all!). Since then, we've never been able to lose the travel bug, making sure we always take advantage of our free time to experience life together! Next up: honeymoon to South Africa-- Simba here we come!! September 16th 2017. It was a whirlwind weekend, and it all started with Nano's interest in figuring out how to surprise Loren after 5+ years! We were planning to head to Europe that next week, and Nano thought there was no better way to surprise Loren than by asking her the week before everyone else expected it! Friday: Jonathan went to great lengths to secure concert tickets to one of Loren's favorite bands and surprise her at a small show in Mill Valley. The show was sold out, so Jonathan sent the band manager and agent an email, Twitter, and Facebook message asking if they had any extra tickets for him and his soon-to-be fiance... The Band was swooned by the efforts and left us two tickets at Will Call to support the master plan! We had a great night full of dancing and enjoying all the Jamestown Revival tunes! Saturday: Jonathan woke up extremely early (which is not out of the ordinary on the weekends) and told Loren he was going to get quarters for laundry in preparation for our Europe trip. Instead of getting quarters, Jonathan was actually writing a card that he would later give her on the beach. We were packing when Jonathan asked Loren if she wanted to go for a walk. We have a typical loop that we take down to the beach and despite Loren's several failed attempts to turn back and return to packing, Jonathan eventually got her down to a spot where he had planned to propose. When Loren looked up from reading the card Jonathan had written, he was down on one knee asking her to marry him! We then proceeded to go to a planned birthday lunch for Jonathan's mom, Carmen. When we arrived, Loren's parents and friend Jenna were also there as a surprise! After lunch, we thought of no better way to continue the celebration than by going bowling - a sport that both of our families have bonded over. We capped off the day by going to Monoghans, the place we shared our first kiss!
