Wedding Date on Dec 20, 2019

Damien & Liam’s story began at a Backpacker Hostel in March 2009. Unfortunately, the hostel was in the midst of being repossessed. The manager tried to appease the soon-to-be homeless backpackers by throwing a rooftop party. And it was here, with the aid of a glass of passion pop or two (Australia’s equivalent to Buckfast!) that Damien plucked up the courage to chat to Liam. The rest they say is history. From that day on, they did not spend one day apart for a solid three months of travel. They returned from their backpacking travels and went their separate ways back home. Liam was heartbroken saying goodbye to Damien as he boarded the bus to the airport. After a long bus ride home Liam opened his laptop to find that Damien has sneakily left a letter for him on the desktop. - It was then that Liam thought “he’s a keeper”. And 1 month later they were reunited in Ireland. Fast forward to Liam’s proposal to Damien. Liam proposed to Damien on Christmas Eve in the bedroom of a fancy hotel overlooking the Swan River in the city of Perth. Liam had also looped in a few friends that lived nearby and they joined them that evening to celebrate their engagement.
