From The Bride: My husband and I met in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2008 when I represented my country Norway in the Miss World competition. He was there to support his sister who happened to be miss USA. We both noticed each other already then, but our relationship did not begin until 2 years later when we met in New York. He lived in NY, and invited me to his New Year's party, I was charmed. We have been together since that night. Coming from two different countries is not always easy, and we have had to go through long distance relationship. However, when you meet the love of your life, it doesn't matter where you come from or how many obstacles you have to go through to be together. We live together in New York now. He proposed in my hometown, Stavanger over Thanksgiving in 2015. July 30th, 2016 was the day of our wedding. It was in my hometown Stavanger in Norway so that was very special. In a way it was a destination wedding (especially for all of the guests coming from the US and other countries and most of them had never been to Norway before), and it was nice to have enough time to plan. The venue was at a small private island a few minutes by boat from Stavanger down town. It was very important for us to have great videographers, so when we discovered the very talented Maru Films, we decided to fly them in from Amsterdam where they are based. We are so happy with the video, it really is a piece of art!
