Laurin & Blayke are a classic tale of love finding you when you least expect it. As much as the couple tried to deny their relationship status for the first year or so of their relationship, most of their friends and family knew this would be it for them. Laurin & Blayke's best friends, Lauren and Paul Tylock owned a very popular bar (Frozen Sun Daquiri's on Verot) that Laurin frequented. Blayke soon started going after work with friends to the bar. After a few too many drinks one night, "Pour Some Sugar On Me" came on, and Laurin, being the crazy extrovert she is, hopped up on the bar to dance along. When the song was over and Laurin was ready to end her show, she walked over to the edge of the bar looking for assistance, and there's Blayke, all 136lbs of him with arms outstretched ready to take Laurin off the bar. And the rest, my friends, is history. Within a couple of months, Laurin and Blayke were hanging out every day, and a few months after that, Blayke had moved in with Laurin in her new home and they were inseparable. The years went by and their bond and love for each other only grew stronger through a new home purchase together, loss of loved ones, and all of the other ups and down and trials and tribulations life can set forth. Now, if you know Laurin, you know that nothing gets by her. With that said, in December of 2019, almost 6 years into their relationship, Laurin and Blayke headed off to Orlando, Florida to spend 10 days between Disney World and Universal Studios for Laurin's 30th birthday. Laurin is OBSESSED with Disney World and was already so overwhelmed by the emotions and excitement of just being there, that she couldn't even see what was coming next. On the night of December 14th, in Animal Kingdom in front of the Tree of Life, Laurin stood watching the night time show displayed on the tree, and when she turned around, Blayke was down on one knee asking her to spend the rest of her life with him. Their engagement story is magical and perfect, but also quite hilarious. Blayke somehow managed to hide this gorgeous ring from Laurin through airport security, in their luggage at home and in the hotel, and finally everywhere they went in that sweet little gray fanny pack you see in almost all of the pictures from their trip. When Blayke was down on one knee proposing, the cheers from the audience around the tree were so loud, that Laurin couldn't hear anything he was saying, and simply heard, "Will you?" at the end of what was allegedly a very beautiful proposal. After the engagement, the couple went off into the mesmerizing world of Pandora at Animal Kingdom for a night time exclusive event and celebrated their love for each other in the most magical place in the world. Talk about a real life fairy tale. Laurin and Blayke are made for each other. There have been fights and tears, but most of all there has been an abundance of love, laughter and understanding.
