A civil wedding, as most think of it, often takes place at a courthouse, but it can be held anywhere, as long as it's not a house of worship. If you and your partner would like a creative or non-traditional ceremony, a civil ceremony is the perfect style of wedding for you.

A civil wedding is very straight-forward. While many people may think this style of wedding is limited to a courthouse ceremony, in fact, it's simply any nonreligious legal ceremony with a legal official acting as officiant, as opposed to a religious one.
