Where do I even begin with this couple's love story? It's hard to even find the words to describe Kristi and Andrew, let alone the love they share. Andrew's proposal plans were thrown a curve ball thanks to the flooding that hit Louisville that February day. So he decided to propose to his college sweetheart at the Olsmted. The very place they will have their reception a year later. Quickly after their propsal, Kristi's father, Otto, was diagnosed with stage four biliary duct cancer. They decided to plan a wedding for June in hopes Kristi's father would be able to attend. His condition quickly worsened and the wedding was moved up to March 14, 2018. Because of Otto's condition, Kristi and Andrew decided to get married in the hospital because it was her wish and her Dad's last wish to walk her down the aisle. The family and the staff at the Hosparus Health In Patient Unit in Norton Hospital threw together a wedding. Only family attended. Although the celebration was still filled with immense sadness, there was still so much joy that radiated down the halls of the hospital. Otto got to walk his daughter down the aisle and (as Kristi's Mom tells it in her toast) after the ceremony, Andrew leaned down to tell Otto, "I'll take good care of her." Otto in his wisdom told Andrew, "She'll take care of you two too." Otto passed away two days later. On January 19, 2019 Andrew and Kristi held their reception at the Olmsted with their friends and family. THIS. This, you guys, is what it's all about. I'm so thankful to know these two and to know their hearts. It's so evident what an amazing couple they are just based on how well they are loved.
