Jimmy and I met at a University of Toledo football game in November of 2015. At the time, we were just two strangers whose seats were next to each other that night. I was a senior at UT, about to graduate in seven months and with the desire to further my education across the country and not look back. Jimmy had graduated from UT three years prior, but him and his friends still attended all the home football games. The game that night was a rival game, so at times it got rowdy and we all enjoyed some banter and talk throughout the night but ultimately were not interested in each other and more into the game. Toledo ended up losing and we all left the stadium cold, wet, and upset. A few weeks later, my family came up for the last home football game of the year. When we went down to our seats, who was standing in front of us again but Jimmy and his friends. What a coincidence! It didn't take very long for Jimmy and I to hit it off and by the end of the game we were more into each other than the game. We exchanged numbers and within days, the rest was history!! When you find your soulmate, you just know. It was a love that came out of nowhere, knocked us off our feet, scared us at first, but has taken us on the best ride of our life! I ended up taking a residency position in North Carolina after graduation and Jimmy stayed in Ohio, so we did distance for the year only seeing each other one weekend a month. It was the easiest and hardest thing to do, but made us even stronger. I moved back to Ohio after I graduated, and that Christmas is when he popped the question! When looking back on that night we met, it's always crazy to think that for four years we both sat in the same section but never met until that game. There had to have been plenty of times we crossed paths, but it wasn't until the last home game I may have been to in years that fate stepped in and brought us together.
