Despite living in different states, we met through mutual friends at Bethany church including my (Matthew's) brother Marcus. Having been acquaintances for a couple of years, in early 2018 I realized I was extremely interested in dating Kelly and decided to figure out how to visit Baton Rouge in order to spend more time getting to know each other. I conspired so that when I came in from out of town, I'd have my brother get his friends to go out and make sure to invite Kelly. Pulled off my plan one Friday, and within the first minute we all got together, she completely figured out my intent and thankfully decided to make it easier for me. By Sunday I had her number, by Wednesday we'd made plans to go out on a date, and the rest is history.
