Jim and I met while I was in college in Pennsylvania. He was a local boy and I was from Maryland. We were both going through some personal challenges and met through a group of mutual friends. We bonded through the support we were able to offer to each other's situations and began dating almost immediately. He supported me while I finished my degree and I supported him while he started his own business. We grew close to one another and overall closer to God. 4 years later, Jim and I traveled to Southern Maryland for the weekend to visit my family. Little did I know that Jim was planning a big surprise and he recruited my brother and sister-in-law to help. We went to lunch on Solomon's Island and as we were walking on the boardwalk, Jim got down on one knee and of course, I said yes! Our wedding was not what we had planned for it to be. Covid-19 hit and for a period of time we were unsure if we would even be able to have a reception with our friends and family. We were forced to change our date, seating arrangements as well as many other things in order to ensure our loved ones were safe during our celebration. Despite those sacrifices, July 19 was the absolute best day of our lives and we truly do not feel like we missed out on a "normal" wedding celebration. After all, by the end of the day we were married!
