Ben was a Sales Director and I was a project and change manager. We spent a year travelling together, did yoga teacher training in India, hiked to Everest base camp, went to 26 countries. Then lived on lake Como for 6 months while Ben renovated a house there, lived in Bali for a couple of months. We like travelling, walking, being in nature, yoga, being together and are pretty antisocial outside our bubble. I practice reiki and shamanic healing and spiritual practice is what’s most important to me - that’s what I want to do from now. Ben’s returning to Sales, we’ve just bought a house in Scotland and want to have a family. We half crave freedom and adventure, half crave conventionality and stability. It could go either way. New Year’s Eve 2019 on a beach o it side Oban watching the most stunning sunset. Ben got down on one knee. We had already picked engagement ring and both wedding rings together the week before but I wasn’t expecting the proposal so quickly. We had amazing seafood lunch at Loch Fyne restaurant that day and have replicated it for our wedding rehearsal dinner Fri 11th. We decided end June to get married in Aug/Sept and only looked at two places - Gleneagles and Borthwick Castle. The castle was beautiful and staff were great so just decided. No long search. In our heads we had thought beach in Bali or Villa del Balbianello on Lake Como. Never planned Scotland but have just gone with the flow and it’s all working out fine.
