What do you do when the totally unexpected happens? You make a new plan! When it came to changing their wedding plans due to the pandemic, Justina and Cody without hesitation said, ‘we’ve got this,’ and let me tell you, they sure did! Moving their wedding from a grand venue to a grand backyard spectacular.
One of the amazing things that happens when you take typical wedding essentials out of the equation is that your wedding day becomes a unique, creative and totally amazing reflection of your personality.
There could not have been a more perfect location for their alternate wedding day then their parents’ backyard. A farmhouse style home with a spacious backyard, surrounded by the natural beauty of Northern New Jersey with sprawling farmlands, small towns, open fields and rolling hills, together created the perfect backdrop for filming Justina and Cody’s love story.
This intimate wedding was so special because not only was it very personal for Justina and Cody, but we also had the unique experience in being immersed in both of their families, hearing stories and engaged in experiences we normally wouldn’t have been during a 250 person destination wedding.
The ceremony was so perfect with the handcrafted arbor feature under a big tree, the seating surrounded by homemade summer bouquets and Justina had just an absolutely stunning summer wedding dress which was a head-turned and showstopper.
After the ceremony we took a short drive down the road to the Uhlerstown Covered Bridge and the shots we were able to capture with Justina and Cody were breathtaking right before golden hour.
But we did have to head back quick, because we didn’t want to miss the perfect backyard summer meal, Texas style wood-fired barbecue from More Than Q. Soooo freakin’ good!
And as the day came to an end, it wouldn’t be a wedding on the Fourth of July without a sparkler sendoff.
It wasn’t what was originally planned, a smaller wedding, a more intimate affair, but in the end the day was filled with special moments and priceless memories and we couldn’t have been happier to be a part of the spectacular day and tell Justina and Cody’s love story.
