Wedding Date on Jun 30, 2018

From Julie, the bride: We are both in medicine and so we met on our psychiatry rotation and spent a lot of time in a little room with a poorly functioning air conditioner which was the romantic environment in which we fell in love. Well... Nick and I are both in medicine, like I mentioned. I'm a surgery resident and he's a PA. Long story short, we are both very busy and therefore, I managed to thwart just about 7 or 8 proposal attempts from Nick before he finally seized the moment. It was Thanksgiving Eve, and this is an important time in Nick's Family's history. It's when his grandparents came over from Ukraine and settled here in MI. They thought to themselves, "if this is how they eat in America, we should have come sooner...". But anyway, I came home from a LOOOONG day at work, and I was grumpy because I thought I would have to work the holiday too, and Nick was dressed up with cologne on and kind of nervously walking around the house. I had already gotten in various stages of pants-less-ness, and got nervous. "Is someone coming over??" Nick replied, "No, but you're probably going to want to put pants on for this." He took me to the dining room and gave me an ornament which said 'Nick + Julie, Engaged 2016". I thought to myself, is there such thing as a promise ornament? However, my beloved did not make me wait long, and he reminded me how important Thanksgiving is to his past, and asked me to join his family, to be part of his future. I gladly said yes. We are both catholic, and we opted for the catholic ceremony. We even have a traditional opera-trained singer to perform the Ave Maria at our ceremony! However, we prefer for an easy elegance at our reception. We want all the guests to have a great time and remember this night for a long time to come. Lots of good food, good cake, good music.
