Calming and full of grace, encouraging and empathetic and confident. These are the qualities that Julia and Joe showed so well on their wedding day. Everything went so smoothly with the incredible vendor team they chose, but even if there had been a mix-up, I'm sure they would've walked through it with dignified elegance. We were so honored to be able to capture this day, and were truly surrounded by some of the best of the best. Catherine Coons and Taylored Affairs created some beautiful magic alongside us + we just couldn't rave enough!! Marie Selby also complimented everything about Julia + Joe so well. We've never had a banyon tree reception before but it was simply stunning (except for when Anna whispered to us that a boa makes his appearance nearby often).
Funny story - I literally did not know the venue was on water upon seeing everything for the first time. You drive in from downtown Sarasota and enter a rainforest of lush greens. The reception was set up near the entrance, so I never made my way past the ceremony space. As the sun began to set for their evening ceremony, I looked past the pergola and couldn't believe we had missed the water view all day! Immediately after the ceremony, we pulled Joe and Julia just as the most beautiful sunset turned a lovely pinky-yellow and lit up their faces for us (love a good natural light all day). The first breeze we had felt on a humid day, and the first quiet moment, too. I'll never forget that moment, and I'm so glad it happened. I hope you can feeeeel the last few moments of this film like we can!
Wishing the best for these two lovely souls. So happy you found each other in a serendipitous moment in Chi Town :) xoxo, Jocelyn and Al
