Since she was 12 years old, Kezia has prayed that God would give her a radical love story. January 2016, she meets a guy on the street after he finished praying for someone and noticed her looking over funny. Catching up to her, they began to speak and discovered they had a couple of mutual friends. As they parted ways, Kezia turned to her friend and said “That’s my husband”. Jordan was intrigued by her and a cheeky add on Facebook the day after, led to messages back and forth and several coffee dates months later. Life happened ; university demands, career changes and travelling which meant they didn’t see each other properly for close to 7 months, but remained friends and had some contact here and there. In January 2017 they started to spend some time together and in March 2017 they started “courting” wanting to prioritise friendship. May 2017 on his birthday, Jordan knew that Kezia was the girl he wanted to pursue and one day call wifey, and in July 2017 they made it official (the 4th July to be exact, so Kezia says she lost her independence on Independence Day.) Jordan and Kezia believed that 2018 would be their year of “New beginnings” and in May 2018, Jordan proposed in his favourite woods where he spent a lot of time growing up (incorporating all of Kezia’s favourite things into one proposal- fairy lights, candles and sparklers.. at sunset). Within 19 weeks from engagement, they bought a house, left their jobs and got married. Their faith in God motivated them throughout and Kezia reminded herself of when she prayed for the things she had now. Their wedding was outdoors in the heart of Derbyshire, and was followed by a tipi reception complete with food trucks, s’mores, festoon lighting, a Caribbean buffet, a silent disco and a sparkler exit. They slept in wooden cabins in the national forest the night before, and had a big bbq with their bridal party (of about 35 people including bridescouples; a position Kezia made up for couples that she had a close friendship with both the husband and wife. Their heart was to use their love to love God and to love people. They had approximately 300 people at their wedding and guests from all over the world, as well as live streaming their ceremony so that family and friends oversees who couldn’t make it, could be a part of the day. Kezia lost her mother at aged 12 and a chair was left empty for her during the ceremony with a song sang after the legal marriage to honour who she was as a person. They are passionate about life and life in all its fullness, and that was their hope on their wedding day. They can also confirm, that they are completely and outrageously in love with each other.
