Jordan and Drew first met in middle school while attending youth group at Elfinwild Presbyterian Church. Unbeknownst to them, just over a decade later, they would return to that initial meeting place, but this time, to become husband and wife.
These two were simply good friends for many years. While both both home from college one summer, they reconnected and decided that just maybe, they should date. With years of friendship, a pre-season Steelers Game, and one three hour hike behind them, they made their relationship official on September 19, 2016.
No strangers to distance, these two started their relationship with a 45 minute commute. When Jordan accepted a position to begin her career in Chicago, that distance increased exponentially. They made the best of things with surprise visits, care packages, late night FaceTime calls, writing each other letters, and spending time traveling the world.
Drew joined Jordan in Chicago just as the pandemic changed the world. In the midst of the chaos, they discovered that being together felt like being home. So this past September, on their five year dating anniversary, they exchanged vows and committed to being dates for life.
As self proclaimed "experience junkies", these two wanted to bring a taste of their love of life and fun to their guests. And dang did they deliver! A live painter, a cigar roller, music performances, a photo-booth, sparkler exit, and more. They even saved memorabilia from their years of dating and created a display for guests to walk through the history of their lives and love story. From ticket stubs, to notes, and care packages, guests could transport time and witness so many standout moments from their lives and love.
Their energy is unparalleled. Their exuberant joy is contagious. Their thoughtfulness aspirational. And their special day was one we never, ever want to stop reliving. Enjoy stepping into this piece of their unique and Divine love story. Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Hughes!
