Wedding Date on Jun 10, 2017

It didn't take long for me to know I was going to marry John Stephen. He pursued me in a way that every girl dreams of. In the beginning of our relationship we would go on what we called "adventures" which was our term for dates like exploring the town, long boarding, visit local scary spots, or find a spot to watch shooting stars. These were the moments I got to see what the adventures of life would really be like with him. Right after we officially started dating we went to Passion conference together which is a Christian conference for college age studetns and I think that's where things really began to grow. I actually wasn't planning on going to Passion, I wanted to go again but hadn't bought a ticket or anything, and next thing I knew John Stephen was calling me telling me he bought mine. I was overwhelmed, we weren't even dating at the time so just the phone call about made my heart explode, I would say that little leap for him to buy my ticket was the game changer. After we left Passion we rode a few hours home and discussed all the things God had shown us that weekend, I felt more reassured than ever that this was who I was going to marry. After that I was all in, he quickly turned into my person and there wasn't a moment I didn't want to talk or be with him.Our relationship isn't perfect, because we are two imperfect people, but John Stephen brings out the best in me. When you find the person you are designed to be with, I believe its just easier. God gave me exactly what I needed, someone who doesn't care what others think and someone who doesn't take life too seriously. Fast forward a few months and I was looking at this incredible guy down on one knee asking ME if I would marry him. I would love to recap the sweet things he said but I was so excited it went into a blur of me jumping up and down screaming yes!! He had carried that ring around for a month, waiting patiently for the moment that looked like me so he could ask me to be his wife. When John Stephen and I decided to get married it was evident this was the timing God had for us. But something about getting married younger has people really concerned. During these moments though I could see Gods faithfulness, and feel His peace. This is what I learned: I will never be "ready" or "prepared" to be the perfect wife, because I will never be perfect. I believe God has equipped me to love John Stephen, but I also know that I will never be able to love John Stephen in the way that God does. What I've learned is that this marriage is not to make us "happy" because there is nothing on earth that can completely satisfy us, this marriage is to make us more holy.Lets just say our wedding day far exceeded every dream I’ve ever had and every Pinterest board I've ever made, because I couldn’t have imagined the beautiful details God would provide in between. My biggest piece of advice for Brides, keep you eyes focused on the important things of the day and don't let the little things that may go wrong change that. Our wedding day is my favorite day to date and i'm so glad I could share the story that got us there! Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/johnplusalyWebsite: https://www.johnplusaly.com
