How they met: Gators??! How bout those LSU Tigers! We racked our brains and concluded that to be the starter to our first convo. (It's just like Daniel to start "flirting" by talking smack!) After that first meeting at Starbucks (he ordered a latte and she ordered something complicated and very specific) we hit it off and proceeded to schedule our official first date at Kitchen 713. Over the next few weeks, we went on around 5-6 dates all throughout Houston Restaurant Weeks. We really bonded over one of our first loves: food. Safe to say, we were definitely interested in learning more about each other. Today, we continue to learn about each other and are excited about the forever learning journey. The Proposal: What a story! JoAnna was hoping to have a low key birthday celebration by requesting a nice dinner. Her choice was Nobu; little did she know, she would have another big celebration. After finishing dinner, they both agreed to go downtown to enjoy the Houston Astros playoff game and the hype energy of the city. Before going downtown, Daniel mentioned stopping at home to allow her to change her shoes. Also, with challenging downtown parking, it only made sense to take an Uber! As she walked in the house, she noticed something white on the stairs. "Diggy must have gotten into something while we were out", she expressed. Walking up the stairs, she noticed candles lining the outside of the stairs, begin to hear the soft music, and upon closer inspection noticed the "white items" were rose petals. Turning the corner into the living room; she was met with camera flash and with letters spelling "Marry Me" Immediately, she froze while putting her hands over her face. Daniel took her by the hand and walked her to the middle of heart made out of roses. Getting on one knee, he asked JoAnna to marry him. She responded with a resounding "YES". After taking pictures and changing her shoes, they called their Uber and went downtown and enjoyed the night as a newly engaged couple.
