Seven years ago, my best girlfriends and I piled in the car and drove to Las Vegas to celebrate Labor Day Weekend. When we got there, one of my best friends, Jenna, said we should go meet up with her older brother (who I had never met) and his friends who were also in town for the weekend. Little did I know that I would meet my husband that night! I immediately thought JJ was so handsome and we just sort of gravitated to each other. Cue the nonstop BBM’ing! After two years of long distance, two years of living together in Dallas, TX and then a move to Charlotte, North Carolina for JJ’s new job post-MBA school, he proposed to me in the Fall with a little help from my brother and our adorable Goldendoodle, Cooper. We always knew we wanted to have a more intimate destination wedding in Cabo to ensure that we were able to spend more than just a night with our favorite people. The Cape hotel in Cabo is truly breathtaking and was the perfect place to host our best friends and family for our wedding weekend. The vibe for our wedding day was “modern romantic” and I think we achieved just that. We incorporated a lot of acrylic signage with fresh fruit and neutral florals. Another big highlight was the eight-piece mariachi band that played our entire cocktail hour! The reception was held on the hotel’s rooftop and was filled with incredible food, heartfelt toasts, too much tequila and some killer dance moves. Our entire day was an absolute dream come true and we are so very grateful. Our only piece of advise to those on the planning journey is to just enjoy it. Planning your wedding is a true labor of love, but it all happens so fast and you will wake up and wish with every cell in your body that you could relive it all! Well, at least I know we did :)
