From the Bride: We met in 2007 through mutual friends at the University of Albany, where we both graduated from in 2009. We dated casually for those two years and then once we graduated and parted ways we just couldn't stay away from each other for too long. Over that summer post-graduation, we kept making excuses to visit each other or meet somewhere between Long Island and Rockland County. Eventually, on August 6th, 2009, we decided to make it official. We admitted to each other that we were in love and the rest is history! We've been together since then and have taken our time and worked hard to get to this point where we take this next step and officially become a family. In those 10 years we have had many amazing adventures, including driving cross country twice together- some of our favorite memories. After living out of a honda civic for a month straight together on our first cross country trip in 2012 and STILL wanting to spend time together after that, we knew we had something special and wanted to continue to explore the world together. We love going to see live music together and have been to dozens of concerts, seeing some of our favorite artists, and both sharing a fun and eclectic passion for music- we can't wait to dance the night away at our wedding with y'all!Mike proposed in the most romantic, thoughtful way and anyone who's seen the engagement video knows that I was totally surprised and blown away by the day he planned. It was the best day of my life and I can only imagine how special our wedding day will be. He pretended we were going to take Christian- our then 4 month old nephew- on his first "hike" at Harriman State Park. We went to "our spot" there- a secluded wooded area by a waterfall where Mike had carved our initials (J <3 M) on a tree many years before. We went to take pictures near the tree with our initials- something that made sense to me in the moment with our photographer brother-in-law there with us- and as I turned around to stand next to him and take the picture there he was down on one knee! I immediately started crying and barely heard what he said lol and of course said yes! He then had ALL of my close friends and family there to surprise me when we got back to his parent's house!! It was the best day.We could not be more excited for our married lives together and are already so grateful for the last 10+ years that we've been together. We've learned and grown a lot over the years and look forward to celebrating our decade long love with the people that mean the most to us!
