We think about this wedding often. June was an incredibly busy month for us, with no less than five destination weddings. And with a 1-year old daughter at home, that meant we couldn’t do all of them together. The wedding of Jeroen & Sanne was the first one in five years one of us went to film solo – in this case Hugo went to Ostuni, Italy to capture it. It was a weird experience to not have Yaël there to rely on, to discuss creative ways to shoot or simply to split the workload. But it helped having an amazing wedding planner (Lucette from House of Luce) and a dream-photographer (Alice Mahran), both of who we always love working with. But what helped most, was this couple. Jeroen & Sanne. I’m so grateful you took a chance and flew me over solo to be a part of your wedding. We’ve had such a good and fun connection, which made me feel as if I was just as any other guest at your wedding. It was such an intimate and loving experience! The wedding took place in Masseria Grieco, an estate that dates back all the way to the 16th century – a truly stunning hotel, completely constructed of traditional dry-stone walls. With Sanne being a stylist, she knew exactly how to create a special, beautiful wedding full of loving & colorful details. The emotional ceremony took place in front of one of the main stairs, which was completely covered in flowers. Violinists played ‘Arrival of the Birds’ as Sanne came down the stairs, accompanied by her father. There wasn’t a dry eye to be seen. An amazing dinner & an epic party – which included fireworks! – made this picture perfect wedding complete.
