Wedding Date on Jun 29, 2019

Stephanie and Jason have a love affair with the state of Maine. Although having been to the state a few times before, the affair truly began in July 2017 when they spent the weekend in Bar Harbor with some friends before picking up their soon to be puppy daughter from Hampden. Over the next year, Jason and Steph escaped to Maine whenever they had the chance. Portland, Ogunquit, Kennebunkport - they loved it all. Jason knew that when he proposed, it would have to be in Maine. In August of 2018, Jason, Steph and their four friends planned a trip to Bar Harbor. On the first full day of their trip, also Jason’s 31st birthday, they embarked on a hike around Acadia National Park which provides some of the loveliest scenery on the eastern seaboard. About an hour and a half into the hike, all six friends descended down a small cliff to explore the shallow rocks and creatures below. Having done this the year before, Steph thought nothing of it. Jason then led Steph to the rocks edge where they gazed out onto the Atlantic. Jason explained that although it was his birthday, he wanted to get Steph a little something. Out of his backpack, he removed a picture book titled ‘JJ and Steph Blanchette’, the cover being a photo taken of the two in Norway just a few months prior. As tears filling her eyes with anticipation, Steph flipped through the book, reflecting on the memories and pictures Jason had collected. Arriving at the last page, Steph read the hand written note aloud, “ Life is a book and every day is a new page. Here’s to the next chapter in our story.” Quiet for a moment, Jason again searched through his backpack where he pulled out a small box. More tears formed as Jason got on one knee and explained the joy Stephanie has brought into his life. It was then when Jason asked if Stephanie would marry him
