Wedding Date on May 4, 2019

On the day of Deeka and Janeil’s wedding, Daniel (the photographer) and I had breakfast with the groom. It was then that I learned Janeil is a poet. I immediately knew that I had to incorporate his art in his and Deeka’s film. We recorded him reciting multiple poems written for his bride the day after the wedding. Deeka and I sat quietly as he read poem after poem, each laced with love and all dedicated to his lady. I remember looking over at Deeka while Janeil read this poem and seeing her locked in to him with eyes full of adoration and gratitude. It was a beautiful moment. Poems both written and delivered by the groom are interlaced as dialogue throughout this film!
