When you hear the word soulmate, "the one" or the line "you'll just know when you find the right one" it can feel a bit dubious when you're single. And boy was I skeptical when married people would feed me these lines. Yet, here I am 2 and a half years into marriage and those words could not be truer. My husband, Jake tells our love story much better and did so on our wedding day, at our reception. Our videographers actually took that speech and made it the soundtrack to our wedding video. So I'll attempt to do our story justice. Jake and I met on a Missions Trip in the Dominican Republic. We served alongside one another for a full week. It was Jakes intent to marry the next person he dated and so he prayed for a sign before asking me out. A few weeks after praying, one day after getting home from work, his roommate recommended he ask me out. Thinking nothing of it, he went into his room and a minute later his phone rang and his friend called only to recommend the same thing, to ask out Macey. At that point, Jake knew this was his sign. He asked me out two days later, knowing I'd say yes! Our relationship has and will continue to be surrounded by prayer and we know above all that we were meant to be together. I believe that a wedding video captures so much more than pictures and words on a wedding day. I'm constantly rewatching our video so that I can relive one of the best days of my life. It's something I will cherish forever! So my advice to brides, get a wedding video. The memories and emotions that are brought together in a wedding video are worth every penny. Also, your love story doesn't stop after your wedding day. Continue to build that love story for years and years down the road. Your wedding day is just the beginning!
