Wedding Date on Oct 29, 2021

We connected on Bumble in December 2017. Jackie remembers one particular picture of Devan on his Bumble profile that she immediately found attractive - a photo of him presenting a scientific poster at a professional physical therapy meeting! While others may find that incredibly dorky and lame, Jackie was also a health professional (pharmacist) and knew what that poster represented... drive, intelligence, and academic researcher. Once they connected on Bumble, Jackie remembers the conversation being so easy, fun, and engaging - it was effortless and we were immediately connecting on so many things we had in common! After chatting rather actively for a few hours, Devan mentioned something about having a final exam the next day and Jackie (having finished her own graduate health professions school training not too long ago) knew what that meant and that he should be studying! They reconnected the next day after his final and the conversation picked up right where it left off :) The first date was in January 2018 (MLK weekend) at Lucha Tigre in Chapel Hill. Devan reached out for a handshake and Jackie went straight in for a hug (she's a hugger)! That turned out to be a plus in Devan's eye. Jackie remembers thinking how cute, sexy, smart, handsome, and interesting Devan was. Jackie introduced Devan to poke for the first time (yum!). Fast forward, the night was filled with easy and great conversation, and before we knew it, hours had past and the restaurant was clearly closing. We were having such a great time we didn't realize the hour or that we were clearly overstaying our welcome! A second date was obvious and the rest is history :)
