Marta was stood up and broken up with by a previous boyfriend and decided to make a girls night of it at the Orange County Fair. That is where she met Ian for the first time and asked him if he wanted to go dancing at a local bar where she and her girlfriends were headed. To her surprise, Ian actually showed up and they danced all night. One date turned into the next until Ian proposed after several years of dating. Marta called me the Wednesday before the Saturday their wedding was scheduled for because her previous videographer canceled on her at the last minute. Marta had heard of me from a friend and trusted her referral. Fortunately enough I was available for the last minute wedding gig. I'm happy to say I not only had the privilege of witnessing the marriage between two incredible people, but I have also made two new life long friendships. Their intimate setting consisted of only 20 of both Ian and Marta's closest friends and family members. To add to the family-oriented event and intentionality of the entire day, Ian and Marta had two seats open at their family style dinner table: one seat was open for the "fallen brothers" in honor of military service men and woman (in which Ian also served as a Marine) and another open for the family members who have passed away; with their pictures delicately placed in frames on the table in front of the seat. Marta's family actually flew all the way from Poland where they had the opportunity to meet Ian in person for the very first time, and witness the marriage between the two. Marta's brother proposed in front of the intimate bunch toward the conclusion of the reception where they are now planning a wedding of their own.
