I met Matt through his older sister Julia. She was the captain of the UNH Women's Rowing team which we were both on. As soon as Julia and I got to know each other, she would tell me all the time that I should meet her brother Matt, that we would be perfect for each other. Finally, at the end of fall semester of 2008, Matt came back to NH from UConn and met a group of us for dinner. We hit it off right away. Matt spent many of his college summers on Martha's Vineyard. During the summer of 2010 I was able to visit him quite a bit. The island became a special place for us during that summer. Fast forward a few more years and Matt and I took a trip out to the island in October 2015. Matt and I openly talked about getting married from very early on but I still didn't see the proposal coming! At the end of a long day of exploring our favorite spots, Matt took me out to the Edgartown lighthouse and proposed! After that weekend there was no doubt in my mind where we would ultimately celebrate our wedding day. We couldn't wait to share our love of the island with our family and friends. Our wedding weekend truly exceeded our expectations. From our casual "rehearsal dinner" (pizza and s'mores around a bonfire with close friends and family), our ceremony at the Old Whaling Church, our reception at Atria, to our farewell brunch at the Daniel Fisher House, the weekend was truly magical. We are forever grateful for Andy who captured all the beautiful moments (and the amazing dance moves) so we can relive them over and over again!
