The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, were married in St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle on May 19th, 2018. The newly titled Duchess of Sussex wore an elegant white, boat neck gown designed by Clare Waight Keller, the artistic director of Givenchy. The bride's tiara, loaned to her by Queen Elizabeth II, was made in 1932 and originally belonged to Queen Mary of Teck, the wife of King George V. Created in 1893, the tiara held her 16-foot veil in place and its center brooch is studded with ten diamonds. Meghan’s simple, clean, makeup was done by her friend and makeup artist Daniel Martin, while her giant low-bun was styled by Serge Normant. She wore a pink-almost-coral lip color with a tint of shine. Following the announcement that her father Thomas Markle would not be attending the wedding Prince Charles, Harry’s father, escorted Meghan halfway down the aisle from the choir to Prince Harry. The wedding was officiated by Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby and conducted by the Right Reverend David Conner, but American bishop Michael Bruce Curry gave a long sermon during which he discussed the power of love. Harry and Meghan did not write their own vows. Just like Princess Diana and Kate Middleton, Meghan did not vow to obey Harry. Diana was the first to break from royal tradition by omitting the word at her wedding. Queen Elizabeth (at the time Princess Elizabeth) did vow to obey her husband, Prince Philip, at her 1948 wedding. Meghan and Harry kissed for the first time as husband and wife on the steps of Windsor Castle, following their ceremony in St. George’s Chapel. Then they walked down the stairs holding hands into a horse-drawn carriage. For the reception Meghan changed into a Stella McCartney gown with a halter neckline. According to The Palace, “The Bride’s evening dress is designed by Stella McCartney and is a bespoke lily white high neck gown made of silk crepe. The Bride is wearing shoes from Aquazurra made in silky satin, with nude mesh, with soles painted in baby blue.” According to the filmmaker, , who produced this video, "Due to the lack of having an official #videographer - Harry and Meghan totally deserve a bit of Mrs Mashup magic. You’re welcome."
