From the Bride: Our wedding was at the Harold Washington Library, we were going for a rustic-glam theme. We wanted something elegant enough to fit the historic, grand space but still felt warm, romantic, and very personal. Vadim's family is Russian and Jewish and mine in Southern and Christian, and we really wanted to embrace all of those differences! We had a rabbi, did the horah, and had a huge Russian feast but we also lit a unity candle, had my family read poems and do speeches during the ceremony, and had a big basket of American flag flip flops for our guests to dance in. Another big theme of the night was Chicago-with each table being named after a train stop that was significant to our love story! We wanted to share as much of our relationship as we could with all of our friends and family since we rarely get to have them all in one place. Vadim and I met in 2011 at our company's softball league here in Chicago. The night we met we spent the whole time laughing at each other's embarrassing stories from our awkward teenage years and haven't looked back since! We realized pretty quickly that we both love to have a good time, love our friends and family, and really love making each other laugh (all things we wanted to share with people at our wedding!). We both know a whole lot of amazing things had to happen to end up together (Vadim was \\ born in Russia and I lived in Atlanta until a year before we met) and feel very lucky to have found each other!!
