Dave is a musician & he debuted a brand new song during the reception all about the journey he & Hannah had taken to get to their wedding day. It was beautiful & you’ll get an “exclusive” peak at it in this film. Covid flipped the wedding industry on its head & with it, the couples who’ve spent months planning & preparing for their dream day. Hannah & Dave were one of those couples who had to move to plan b, then plan c, then d, e, f, etc, etc. We got to witness first hand the whirlwind of details & regulations that swirled around them & were beyond impressed at the way they navigated the storm with grace & optimism. Since their original venue canceled, Hannah & Dave found the most beautiful Airbnb in La Jolla to host their much more minimal wedding. They capped their guestlist to probably a 1/4 of the initial count with only bridal party & family attending. The Airbnb had a perfect deck in a private canyon with bright vines & lots & lots of stairs. The week of their wedding, the four of us drove out to Ramona to capture the two of them in a more adventurous, intimate way. We hiked up in the mountains & ended up just playing on rocks, eating sandwiches, & capturing the fun & ease the two of them expressed. It was just light-hearted, out-of-the-house break we all needed in the midst of so much craziness. We got the honor of both shooting photos & video for them. In their wedding film, Hannah’s grandpa gives one of the most emotional toasts we’ve encountered & it’s worth watching. It’s also worth watching to see how special & emotional their wedding turned out despite the ups & downs. Like many people noted this day, This really was a “Plan A” wedding.
